"Wouldn't It Be Nice?... It Is!"

From the stump of an old oak tree...

I found this a few weeks ago in the town square in Zachary, LA by artist, Burt Fleming. Apparently, the citizens funded the project to honor all veterans. The eagle is carved out of the trunk of a large oak tree. I decided to wait for the appropriate time to post it.

I think today is an appropriate time... Happy Independence Day! — at Zachary Historic Village.
